MAXTON — Maxton police are looking for the person or people who shot and injured three Laurinburg men late Thursday night.

Andrew Everett, 25, Sidney Garner, 23, and James Tyndall, 19, all of Laurinburg, were traveling on Graham Street when shots were fired into their vehicle, according to Police Chief Tammy Deese.

According to Deese, police responded to reports of shots fired around 11:52 p.m. and found several empty shells, but no one who had been shot.

Scotland Memorial Hospital contacted Maxton police to alert them that Everett, Garner and Tyndall had arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Everett was taken to an undisclosed hospital for injuries that, according to Deese, were not life-threatening on Friday afternoon. Tyndall and Garner were released after being treated at Scotland Memorial.

Lt. William Davis, with Maxton police, is working with the State Bureau of Investigation to identify the shooter or shooters.
