LAURINBURG — The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert to the general public for two men wanted for crimes — one is being considered potentially armed and dangerous.

McRae, 33, of Quick Street in Gibson, who is wanted on several charges, including” robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm into occupied property, felony breaking and entering into a mobile vehicle, felony larceny from a motor vehicle, felony possession of a firearm by convicted felon and misdemeanor injury to personal property.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, McRae was last seen Wednesday at the Short Trip Convenience store in Gibson wearing a black hoodie and dark colored pants.

On that day, McRae reportedly encountered a male and a physical assault occurred. McRae allegedly robbed the victim and damaged property belonging to the victim by throwing a brick through the window of a vehicle. McRae then fired a weapon allegedly toward the victim and fled.

Anyone who may know the whereabouts of McRae is urged to call 911 or contact the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 910-266-4332. Do not confront McRae, as he is considered armed and dangerous.

Brian Medlin

Medlin, 41, of Blue Woods Road in Laurinburg is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office for felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

According to investigators, sheriff’s deputies received a call on Feb. 15 from a victim who stated Medlin received $2,500 in exchange for services that he allegedly never rendered. The victim also said Medlin was not licensed or registered by legal permit to do the work.

Medlin has also reportedly been charged in several prior incidents involving the same approach, and was convicted and placed on probation.
