LAURINBURG — Members of the Laurinburg Rotary Club who gathered for the weekly lunch meeting Tuesday were treated to a musical presentation.

The mini concert was provided by the Wells & Altman Brass Quartet, which performed a medley of Christmas songs — including “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and “Oh Little Town of Bethlehem” — as well as an Advent hymn, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.”

The Quartet was made up of lead trumpeter Tim Altman, who is a music professor at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke who also plays with the Fayetteville Symphony; his son, Noah, on second trumpet; French horn player Pruette Wells; and tuba player Harrison Wells.

Tuesday was the very first time the Quartet had played together.

During the program, Rotary members were invited to sing along.

The Laurinburg Rotary Club will not meet during the next two Tuesdays because of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The next meeting will be held Jan. 8.
