Tell us about your place: Manager Jessica Dimery carved a few minutes out of her day to tell us about the fresh hibachi-style dishes at Taki Japanese Restaurant.

“The original name was Vy Taki, after the old owner’s daughter,” said Dimery. “Our owner Phong Tu took over in 2016.”

Dimery said the restaurant has been serving customers in Laurinburg for more than 10 years. Customers can come to eat in a serene and welcoming dining room.

“At night we have dimmed lighting and our atmosphere is quiet and laid back,” added Dimery.

Specialties: Taki serves various entrees, combination plates, and side orders all cooked in soy or teriyaki sauce.

“We have our Taki specialty plate with is a combination of 3 meats of your choice, vegetables and rice,” said Dimery. “We also have spring rolls.”

Most popular dish: “Chicken is a go-to everyone likes chicken,” stated Dimery. “Hibachi Chicken or the Teriyaki Chicken is most popular.”

What attracts customers to your restaurant?

“Maybe it’s the fast service and we have a drive-thru,” said Dimery. “Friday nights are very busy, so it works for us.”

Dimery stated that customers also can call in orders to go.
