President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence receive an emergency preparedness update call on the impact of Hurricane Florence on the east coast during the weekend. On Monday, the president continued to monitor the preparedness and response efforts for Hurricane Florence. He was briefed again by Sec. Nielsen, Admiral Schultz and Administrator Long. On Sunday, he spoke with Mayor Brenda Bethune of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Mayor Dana Outlaw of New Bern. They discussed the rescue and response efforts in those communities and the president offered the full support of federal government.
