LAURINBURG — Several residents at Tara Village Apartments reported having their cars broken into.

On Friday there were three police reports of car break-ins on Tara Drive.

The first was called in with a purse and assorted snacks taken from the care valued at $95. According to Laurinburg Police Capt. Chris Young, while investigating the scene officers located another car that had a door open.

Police made contact with the owner of the car who said that, while nothing had been taken from the car, it had been searched.

Later the police came back to Tara Drive for another motor vehicle break-in and larceny. The victim told police a speaker, picture monument, change, a ring, a book-bag, and army uniform had been removed from the car totaling $540.

The incidents are under investigation by the police.
