Break-in

LAURINBURG — A resident of Kiser Road reported to the police department on Monday that a storage shed on the property was broken into. More than 50 items were stolen from the shed and the back of the victim’s truck totaling $853. The victim told police he confronted his son about taking the items and he admitted he had — the victim then told him to return the items, which he has yet to do. The victim believes his son sold them and the incident is still under investigation.

LAURINBURG — A resident of North Caledonia reported to the police department on Tuesday that his step-son had broken into the house and stole ammunition and clothing. The victim told police he evicted his step-son in April for stealing and the step-son has continued to come to the house and take items. The incident is under investigation.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Pitt Street reported that unknown persons had entered her vehicle while it was parked under her carport and stole a purse with a debit card and $6 cash in it. Nothing else from the vehicle was reported missing.

LAURINBURG — Cypress Creek Renewables on McIntosh Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday that someone had damaged a chain to enter the property. Nothing was reported missing.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — A resident of Willow Drive reported to the police department on Monday that she kept important documents of her three great-grandchildren and hers in a pouch in a locked briefcase in her closet and she noticed that the pouch was missing. She told police it contained Social Security cards and birth certificates and she had looked everywhere in her house and was unable to locate it.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Gulf Street reported to the police department on Monday that his 7- to 8-week-old Pitbull puppy was stolen. When he got home from work he noticed that the dog’s crate on the front porch was open and the dog was missing. He was unable to locate the dog in the area.

MAXTON — KR Cavenaugh Electric, Inc. on Pell Drive reported to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday that someone had stolen a Kubota excavator from the construction site valued at $60,000.

Vandalism

WAGRAM — A resident of Crestwood Drive reported to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday that someone threw a rock and broke a window at the residence.

Burglary

LAURINBURG —A resident of Willow Drive reported to the police department on Monday that a man and woman tried to rob her at gunpoint at her home. The victim told police that she heard a knock on the door and, when she opened it, she was hit in the face by the woman. The man then pointed a gun at her and demanded money — when she told them she had none he began searching the house while the woman held the victim. The man found no money and the pair left. Police found no damage to any property or any injuries to the victim.

Fraud

LAURINBURG — The sheriff’s office is investigating a fraud report where $4,600 was taken from a 77-year-old’s bank account in multiple locations in the area.

LAURINBURG — A resident of McQueen Road, Shannon, reported to the police department on Tuesday that someone had taken her credit card and had used it at various locations in town. The woman said that she had last used it at Walmart and provided a bank statement with the fraud charges, which totaled $420.13 from Burger King, Hibbett Sports, O’Reilly Auto Parts and Murphy’s gas station.

LAUREL HILL — Hardee’s on Andrew Jackson Highway reported to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday that someone had used counterfeit money to purchase items at the location on Saturday.

Rape

LAUREL HILL — The sheriff’s office is investigated a reported rape of a 15-year-old girl of Peele’s Chapel Road. There is a suspect in the case.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Ariel Hunt, 26, of Gulfport Road was arrested Monday for outstanding warrants out of Robeson County. She was given a $3,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Katlin Smith, 28, of Tartan Road was arrested Monday for obtaining property by false pretense and two counts of financial card theft. She was given a $2,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Trebeon Deviner, 19, of Beta Street was arrested Monday for warrants for two counts of simple physical assault and communicating threats. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Katlyn Davis, 18, of Church Street was arrested Tuesday for outstanding warrants for larceny, simple assault, and vandalism. She wasn’t given a bond.

LAUREL HILL — Kevin Ray Frier, 18, of Fork Street was arrested Wednesday for felony arson. He was given a $7,500 bond.

LAURINBURG — Tolla Marie Locklear, 21, of Johns Mill Road, Maxton, was arrested Wednesday for an order for arrest and failure to appear for robbery with a dangerous weapon. She was given a $75,000 bond.
