Break-in

LAURINBURG — A resident of Old Lumberton Road reported to the police department on Wednesday that someone had entered the residence and took a 45-inch television valued at $400.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Saymon Street reported to the sheriff’s office on Thursday that unknown persons had broken into the home and stole a .32-caliber revolver valued at $500.

LAURINBURG — Stewartsville Baptist Church on McColl Road reported to the police department on Thursday that someone had broken into the church and released two fire extinguisher in a Christ the Cornerstone Academy classroom. The fire extinguisher were located in the woods behind the church.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Pea Bridge Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Thursday that someone had broken into the travel trailer and stole several items. The items included a portable grill and DVD player totaling $450. The portable grill was recovered.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Shaw Currie Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Thursday that unknown persons broke into the barn on the property an stole a camping tent that was later recovered.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Maplewood Drive reported to the police department on Thursday that someone had entered the garage and removed a bike valued at $100.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Old Lumberton Road reported to the police department on Thursday that unknown persons had broken in and stolen an assortment of clothing valued at $500.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — A resident of Old Lumberton Road reported to the police department on Thursday that someone had removed his .380 Taurus pistol valued at $342 from the residence. There were no signs of forced entry.

Drug violation

LAURINBURG — Police officers responded to a followup for a car accident investigation Wednesday at Scotland Memorial Hospital. Upon arrival officers were advised that, while preparing Cynthia Bryant, 52, of East Vance Street, for treatment, a bag of marijuana fell out of her clothing. She was given a citation for simple possession of marijuana.

Burglary

LAURINBURG — Police responded to a call from the son of a resident of Central School Apartments on McRae Street that there was a burglary of $8. Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim and located a male in the residence. Warrants were obtained for the male identified as Damien Hicks, 44, of Roders Street, Bennettsville, S.C., for first-degree burglary and common law robbery.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Senese Darlene Rosemond, 60, of Sanders Road was given a criminal summons on Thursday for simple assault.

LAURINBURG — James Arthur Johnson, 35, of Crestline Road was arrested Thursday for possession of stolen goods/property. He was given a $5,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — William Alexander Jones, 49, of Aberdeen Road was arrested Thursday for possession of controlled substance on prison/jail premises and felony possession of cocaine. He was given a $5,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Ernest Locklear III, 27, of North Turnpike Road, Wagram, was arrested Thursday for breaking and entering, larceny and attempted larceny. He was given a $15,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — James Arthur Johnson, 35, of Crestline Road was given a criminal summons Thursday for larceny.
