LAURINBURG — Police here were called to a residence along Hall Street on Thursday afternoon for a domestic situation in progress.
According to Laurinburg Assistant Police Chief Terry Chavis, when officers arrived they found the victim with “fresh bruises and blood on her neck, as well as blood on her lip.”
The 28-year-old victim told officers that Tyricus Love, 21, held her down and choked her and also cut her neck with a knife.
Officers located Love and took him into custody. At the magistrates office it was found that there had been a warrant for assault on female taken out by the victim.
Love, of Covenant Way, was also charged with felony assault by strangulation and assault with a deadly weapon.
He wasn’t given a bond.
