HAMLET – Richmond Community College and The Citadel have signed an articulation agreement enabling RichmondCC students to enroll online at The Citadel’s Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business, a division of The Citadel Graduate College.

Under the agreement, qualified students have the opportunity to transfer with an associate degree and pursue a bachelor of science in Business Administration.

The Citadel is a landmark in Charleston, S.C., that is noted for its educational reputation as well as its rich history. The Citadel is best known nationally for the South Carolina Corps of Cadets, which draws students from about 45 states and a dozen countries. For the seven consecutive years, The Citadel has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the top public college in the South for institutions granting up to a master’s degree.

“We are excited to be working with this prestigious school in South Carolina and opening new pathways for our graduates to pursue higher degrees,” said Dale McInnis, president of RichmondCC. “We provide our students with individualized attention and a quality education that prepares them to achieve success at the university level. We look forward to having RichmondCC graduates entering The Citadel.”

The Tommy & Victoria Baker School of Business at The Citadel is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Institutions that earn accreditation confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement trough a rigorous and comprehensive peer review. AACSB accreditation is the symbol of excellence in business education.

“Students studying business online receive the same high quality content from the same expert faculty as those attending the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business in person on The Citadel campus,” said Michael Weeks, Ph.D., dean and Robert A. Jolley chair of Business Administration for the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business. “We look forward to welcoming students from Richmond Community College as they progress from an associate degree to the pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.”

RichmondCC students who complete an associate degree as outlined in the agreement will be awarded full transfer credit and afforded the opportunity to complete the bachelor’s degree in business administration in four semesters of study at The Citadel. The agreement features a transfer course equivalency table that represents the required and elective courses that align with those completed by degree-seeking students at The Citadel.

RichmondCC also has agreements with all North Carolina state colleges and universities and several private colleges including Wingate, Campbell, Gardner-Webb and Pfeiffer.
