LAURINBURG — A resident of Lauch Blue Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday that unknown persons had stolen a 15-foot, two-man pontoon paddle boat valued at $1,600 from the property.

LAURINBURG — A resident of West Cronly Street reported to the police department on Wednesday that someone had stolen the city trash can from the property.

LAURINBURG — Nic’s Pic Kwik No. 7 on Andrew Jackson Highway reported to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday that someone pumped $33 in gas from the store and left without paying for it.

LAURINBURG — Lowe’s on the 401 Bypass reported to the police department on Wednesday that a woman pushing an infant came into the store and put an air-conditioning unit valued at $322 in her cart before walking out the doors without paying. She left before any employees could stop her.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Park Drive reported to the police department on Wednesday that her keys were stolen off of her table. She recalls seeing the keys a couple hours previously; the key ring contains her house and car keys.

Vandalism

GIBSON — A resident of Main Street reported to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday that someone had broken the window of the residence.

Forgery

LAURINBURG — State Employee Credit Union on Plaza Road reported to the police department on Wednesday that a member came in and cashed two checks on two separate occasions in July totalling $755. The checks came back as forged. There is a suspect in the case.

LAURINBURG — First Bank on South Main Street reported to the police department on Wednesday that a man came into the bank and cashed a check for $770.17. The check turned out to be forged. There is a suspect in the case.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Larry Gardner, 38, of Tara Drive was arrested Wednesday for a failure to appear for driving while under the influence. He was given a $1,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Sheldon McDougald, 45, of Pitt Street was arrested Wednesday for failure to appear for driving with license revoked and possession of marijuana. He was given a $200 bond.

LAURINBURG — Troy McPherson, 57, of Crestline Road was arrested Wednesday for misdemeanor larceny. He was given a $2,500 bond.

LAURINBURG — Derrick Hester, 39, of Sofie Court was arrested Wednesday for assault on a female. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Darin Perkins, 22, of Blue Woods Road was arrested Wednesday for trespassing. He was given a $500 bond.

LAURINBURG — Derick Campbell, 28, of Railroad Street was arrested Wednesday for outstanding warrants, including two for assault on a female and one for injury to personal property. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Michael McGirt, 32, of Sherbrooke Circle was arrested Wednesday after breaking into his estranged wife’s home and striking a male occupant. He was charged with felony breaking and entering to terrorize, misdemeanor breaking and entering, trespassing, and cyberstalking. He wasn’t given a bond.
