Break-in

LAURINBURG — A resident of Gulf Street reported to the police department on Tuesday that unknown persons broke into her car. The suspect took a Skyline pistol, valued at $400, and a debit card. There were no signs of forced entry or damage to the vehicle.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Maxton reported to the police department on Tuesday that someone had broken into a residence she owned on Britt Street. The house had been vacant and she reported that a door and bathroom sink had been damaged.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Cooper Street reported to the police department on Tuesday that unknown persons entered a storage unit on the property and removed a 150-pack of insulin needles valued at $100.

Larceny

LAUREL HILL — A resident of Andrew Jackson Highway reported to the sheriff’s office Tuesday that someone had stolen a set of cornhole boards valued at $200 from the property.

Vandalism

GIBSON — Gibson Village Apartments reported to the sheriff’s office Tuesday that unknown persons had spray painted the vinyl siding of the property.

Assault

LAURINBURG — An inmate at the Scotland Correctional Institution was assaulted on Wednesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. The inmate was punched in the face several times and sustained minor injuries.

Arrests

LAURINBURG —Jacob Morgan, 22, of Andrew Jackson Highway in Laurel Hill was arrested Tuesday. He was charged with an outstanding warrant for two counts of communicating threats. He wasn’t given a bond.

WAGRAM — Crystal Locklear, 30, of Harold Morris Road was arrested Tuesday. She was charged with threatening phone calls, criminal damage to property, and cyber-stalking. She wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — A John Doe, 50, was arrested Tuesday for communicating threats and resisting, delaying, and obstructing an officer. He wasn’t given a bond.

LAUREL HILL — Ashley Brown, 33, of Hwy. 130 West, Maxton, was arrested Wednesday. She was charged for an order for arrest for an assault on a child, speeding, and no operators license. She was given at $500 bond.
