LAURINBURG — A Marion man was arrested Friday evening after trying to run from police in the woods.

Tevin Gurley, 24, of East Picking Street in Marion, S.C., was arrested Friday for resisting officers.

According to Assistant Police Chief Terry Chavis, officers responded to Lincoln Street in response to a domestic call. Officers made contact with the female in the house who told them the male was still in the house. When officers entered Gurley ran out the back door and into the woods.

While running in the woods Gurley reporteedly ran into a tree. He was later found by officers hiding in a ditch. Gurley was transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries, then arrested.

Since Gurley also has several warrants in South Carolina, he wasn’t given a bond.
