Deputies arrest three for drug trafficking

LAURINBURG —A drug bust on Wednesday lead to three women being arrested.

According to the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies located around 90 pills of Oxycodone Hydrochloride and seized them from the car on Produce Market Road at around noon.

Arrested were 45-year-old Wessie Emily Mejorado of Marston Road, Laurel Hill; 48-year-old Melisa Christian of North Main Street, Laurinburg; and Cheyenne Elizabeth Locklear, 22, of Piston Road in Maxton.

All three women were charged with trafficking Schedule II drugs, maintaining vehicle, and conspiracy to sell and deliver. They were each booked into the Scotland County Detention Center with a $200,000 bond.
