Break-in

MAXTON — A resident of Old Lumberton Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Monday that someone broke into the home and stole several items. Items stolen include a 55-inch TV, stereo equipment, a floor safe, an iPad tablet, a Mossberg shotgun, and a .40-caliber Glock handgun totaling $2,309.

LAURINBURG — A resident of East Vance Street reported to the police department on Monday that unknown persons broke into her car and stole a purse containing $350. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.

LAURINBURG — Beth-el Living Word Ministry on Old Lumberton Road reported to the police department on Monday that someone broke into a storage shed by damaging a window. The person took a pressure washer valued at $350 and two gas containers.

LAURINBURG — Sam’s Auction on Andrew Jackson Highway reported to the sheriff’s office on Monday that unknown persons broke into the property and stole several items including several chain saws and a hand drill totalling $400. There was also damage to a door lock and a vehicle window.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Lytch Street reported to the police department on Monday that someone broke into his vehicle and took $60 cash and caused $50 in damage to the car door.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — A resident of Hall Street reported to the police department on Monday that unknown persons stole her black 2015 Honda Civic.

LAURINBURG —A resident of Riverton Road in Wagram reported to the police department on Monday that her 2005 Cadillac was stolen from the Speedway on South Main Street. The car was later located and recovered after it was involved in a traffic accident on Caledonia Road and Pitt Street. The vehicle went left on the road and struck a church sign and the driver fled. There was $4,000 of damage done to the car.

Fire

GIBSON — A resident of Gibson Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Monday that a fire was started at mobile home with unknown causes. There was $50,000 of damage to the home and the incident is under investigation.

Arrests

LAURINBURG — Jamal Davon Easterinling, 24, of Patton Street, Bennettsville, S.C., was arrested Monday for possession of firearm by a felon. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

LAURINBURG — Sheddrick Shandal McLean, 36, of Hudson Street, Bennettsville, S.C., was arrested Monday for possession of firearm by a felon. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

LAURINBURG — Arnoldrea Victor Thomas, 44, of Dickson Street, was arrested Monday for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver. She wasn’t given a bond.

LAURINBURG — Montrell Latrey McRae, 27, of Quick Street, Gibson, was arrested Monday for a protective order violation and resisting arrest. He was given a $100 bond.
