Patrols, checkpoints lead to 42 violation stops

LAURINBURG — The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office conducted saturation patrols and checkpoints from June 28 to July 8 in support of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program and made a total of 42 violation stops.

According to Deputy Darryl Ford with the Sheriff’s Office, those violations included:

— Two driving while impaired arrests

— One uninsured motorist

— Twenty-three speeding violations

— Three driving while licensed suspended

— Two seat belt violations

— Nine miscellaneous violations

— Two wanted people arrested

The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office plans continue in its efforts toward making Scotland County a safer county with preventive patrols.
