Break-in

WAGRAM — A resident of Jane Shaw Road reported to the sheriff’s office Thursday that unknown persons took a pressure washer from the property valued at $500.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — The police department responded to Hall Street on Wednesday in response to a report of several items being taken from the vehicle. The victim told police that she had let a friend drive her vehicle and when she went out to it she noticed a .22-caliber Taurus pistol, a tablet, and a Michael Kors purse totalling $780. The suspect tried to transfer fund from the victims bank account to another one through an app and the victims was notified by her bank. There is a suspect in the case but police are still investigating.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Park Drive reported to the police department on Thursday that a .45-caliber Ruger pistol valued at $400 was taken out of his residence. The suspect was inquiring about a vehicle the victim was selling so he invited him inside to talk. When the suspect left the victim noticed the handgun was missing.

LAURINBURG —A resident of Blues Farm Road reported to the police department on Thursday that an orange kayak valued at $450 was taken from the property.

LAURINBURG — The Murphy Gas Station on U.S. 401 reported to the police department on Thursday that an individual removed eight Red Bulls from the cooler, walked out of the store, and left in a white Buick.

Arrests

LAUREL HILL — Dustin Legge, 34, of Pate Street was arrested on Wednesday for an outstanding warrant for possession of marijuana. He was given a $1,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Allen Mintz, 28, of Seventh Street, East Laurinburg, was arrested Thursday for felony breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny. He was given a $5,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Jason Jones, 44, of Wild Plum Road, Maxton, was arrested Thursday and charged with driving while license revoked, no operators license, and failure to wear a seat belt. He was given a $3,100 bond.

LAURINBURG — Stacey Oxendine, 27, of Omah Hill Drive, Laurel Hill, was given a criminal summons Thursday for a misdemeanor of communicating threats.

LAURINBURG — Paula Legette, 41, of Grant Street was charged with a DWI and open container of alcohol on Thursday after she was traveling west on East Covington Street and hit a parked vehicle then flipped her own. She was released on a custody release.
