Break-in

LAURINBURG — A resident of Dillon Drive reported to the sheriff’s office that someone had broken into her car and stole medicine out of it.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Cyprus Drive reported to the police department on Friday that a Springfield pistol valued at $750 had been stolen.

LAURINBURG — Pleasant View Church on Old Lumberton Road reported to the police department on Saturday that someone had broken into the church. Upon investigation the front and back door were damaged and the kitchen had been rummaged through.

Fire

GIBSON — The sheriff’s office received a report on Saturday about a structure fire on Quick Street that was caused by an unknown source. The damage was $5,000 and the incident is still under investigation.

Larceny

LAURINBURG — A resident of McLaughlin Road reported to the police department on Thursday that someone had stolen her wallet at the Piggly Wiggly. The victim loaded groceries into her car and pushed the cart back into the store and forgot her wallet in it. When she returned later it was discovered that it was gone. Inside contained a driver’s license, social security card, and two Walmart credit cards.

LAURINBURG — A resident of Collinwood Circle reported to the police department on Friday that the registration plate on her car was stolen.

Robbery

LAURINBURG — A resident of Beta Street reported to the police department on Saturday that someone had robbed him at gunpoint back in June and stole his Nike shoes.

Fraud

LAURINBURG —A resident of Oak Street reported to the police department on Thursday that someone had stolen a payroll card and withdrew $300 at an ATM on Atkinson Street.

Vandalism

LAURINBURG — A resident of Elliott Drive reported to the police department on Friday that someone had broken a bedroom window in the house. It is unclear if anyone entered the property through the window.

Arrests

WAGRAM — Ernest Junior Locklear III, 27, of North Turnpike Road was arrested for burglary of a residence. He was given a $100,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Timothy Leland Wyland Jr., 25, of Havelock Drive was arrested for assault on a female. He was jailed without bond.

LAURINBURG — Joseph Carpenter, 29, of Presnell Street in Asheboro was arrested for speeding and driving while license revoked. He was given a $500 bond.

LAURINBURG — Dewayne Capel Jr., 21, of Airbase Road was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and using a fictitious registration during a traffic stop. He was jailed without bond.

LAURINBURG — Christopher Johnson, 26, of Laburn McLean Road was arrested and charged with resisting arrest. He was given a $2,500 bond.

LAURINBURG — Nicole Ward, 48, of Cornelia Street was arrested for an outstanding warrant for child abuse in Hoke County after a traffic stop. She was given a $1,000 bond.

LAURINBURG — Steven Stinson, 52, of Bennettsville was arrested for assault on a female. He was jailed without bond.

LAURINBURG — Delveccio Bethea, 27, of Lincoln Street was arrested for outstanding warrants for domestic abuse and threatening phone calls. He was jailed without bond.
