Three arrested in connection with June shooting

LAURINBURG — Police have arrested three men in connection to a shooting that took place last month at corner of Kinston and Asheville streets.

The shooting took place on June 6 around 7:30 p.m. when Laurinburg Police responded to a call of multiple shots fired on Kinston Street.

Allen Gunter, 24, of East Vance Street was arrested on Saturday, June 30 after police observed him at his residence. Gunter was charged with inciting a riot and conspiracy and was placed under a $150,000 bond, according to Laurinburg Police Captain Chris Young.

Ronshe Gunter, 22, also of East Vance Street, turned himself in at the police station on Saturday evening. He has been charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of felony inciting a riot, one count of discharging a weapon into occupied property, four counts of felony conspiracy, one count of going armed to the terror of the people, one count of discharging a firearm in the city, and six counts of injury to personal property. He was placed under a $250,000 bond.

Maurice Bostic, 21, of Fairmont Street, was arrested Sunday, July 1 and charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of felony inciting a riot, one count of discharging a weapon into occupied property, four counts of felony conspiracy, one count of going armed to the terror of the people, one count of discharging a firearm in the city, and six counts of injury to personal property. He was placed under a $250,000 bond.

The three men were identified by detectives in connection with the shootout that damaged at least one car and one home in the neighborhood that was occupied during the shooting. No one was injured, according to police.

All three men are still being held at Scotland County Detention Center.
