LAURINBURG — Filing for two Soil and Water supervisor seats began on Monday and will run through noon on July 6.

The board is made up of five members — three elected and two appointed by the NC Soil and Water Conservation Commission. The seats up for election are currently held by Edward T. Carmichael and T. G. Gibson.

Supervisor duties include establishing local soil and water conservation priorities and approving district contracts.
