LAURINBURG – A resident of Charlotte Street reported to police on Monday that someone broke into the her 2016 Hyundai Accent and stole a 20-gauge shotgun valued at $350 leaving $200 damage to a window.

LAURINBURG – A One Hour Cleaners on Main Street reported to police on Tuesday that someone broke into the store by kicking in a door and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

LAUREL HILL – A resident of Old Wire Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday that someone broke into the home and stole a chainsaw and tripod light total value $1,465.

LAUREL HILL – A resident of McFarland Road reported to the sheriff’s office on Tuesday that someone broke into the home and stole a 9 mm handgun and six gun magazines full of ammunition total value $470.

Fraud

LAURINBURG – Stewartsville Cemetery reported to the sheriff’s office on Thursday that someone promised to do work on the property and failed to finish the job after having been paid $6,000.

LAURINBURG – A resident of Hall Street reported to police on Tuesday that someone used her identity to take out $19,974 in student loans Everest University in Orlando Florida.

Vandalism

LAURINBURG – I Ellis Johnson Elementary School reported to police on Tuesday that someone shot out a window and left bullet holes in an exterior wall on Monday night leaving $250 in damages. The damage was found Tuesday morning.

LAURINBURG – A resident of Hasty Road reported to police on Tuesday that someone knocked over the mailbox center at the apartment complex.

Arrests

LAURINBURG – Cynthia Smiling, 47, of Biggs Street, was arrested for larceny by an employee for taking money from the cash drawer on several occasions at One Hour Cleaners. She was given a $500 bond, according to police.

LAURINBURG – Sabrina Learson, 49, of Pitt Street, was served a criminal summons for school attendance law violations, according to the sheriff’s office.

LAURINBURG – Sierra Dent, 32, of Turnpike Road, was arrested for communicating threats and given a written promise to appear, according to police.

LAURINBURG – Tyrone Norris, 34, of Anson Avenue, was arrested for assault on a female and vandalism and given no bond, according to police.

LAURINBURG – Ashley McDonald, 34, of Douglas Street, was arrested by criminal summons for communicating threats and released, according to police.

GIBSON – William Elliot Fields, 28, of Gibson Road, was arrested for assault on a female and given no bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
