New St. John Holiness Church will host the 2018 women’s empowerment conference at 1307 N. Main Street, Laurinburg. Friday registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with services at 6:30 p.m. Breakfast will be served on Saturday at 8 a.m. This year’s theme is “In times Like These 2 Timothy 3:1-8.”

July 29

Haven of Truth Church will hold a pre-appreciation service for Pastor Sarah D. Crosby at 4 p.m. at 504 E. Broad Street, Rockingham. Bishop Steven Williams of Goodwill Baptist Church in Clemmons will be the speaker.

Carolina New Life Church will host pack the pew at 3 p.m. at 8461 Peele’s Chapel Road, Laurel Hill. Speaker will be Apostle Moses Townsend of Fayetteville.

The program will feature three African Methodist Episcopal churches in the area — Zion-Campbell AME, Allen Chapel AME and Joseph Temple AME. Rev. Sandra Bullock-Hunter of Popular Springs AME Church will be the guest speaker.

July 29-Aug. 1

Cedar Grove First Missionary Baptist Church will host their revival beginning July 29 at 3 p.m. Services July 30-Aug. 1 will be at 7 p.m. nightly at 14600 Railroad Street, Gibson.

Aug. 1-3

Fletcher Grove Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Fall Revival. The guest speaker on Wednesday, Aug. 1, will be Pastor Michael Leak of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Laurinburg; Thursday, Aug. 2, will be Jerry Tyson of Flat Rock MBC of Wadesboro; and Friday, Aug. 3, will be Pastor Darlene Stuckey of Greater Fair Plain, McColl, S.C. All are welcome.

Cool Springs United Methodist Church, 16301 Scotch Grove Road, Laurinburg, invites the community to its 137th anniversary at 11 am. Guest speaker is Dr. Rameek McNair, DDS, of Jacksonville, Fla., the son of Wallace McNair of Laurinburg. The Male Choir will provide music.

Hunter’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church will hold their homecoming at 10:45 a.m. at 16441 Jerusalem Road, Laurinburg. Dinner will be served in the fellowship hall following the service. Homecoming service will be held at 3 p.m. with Rev. Darren Coleman of Charity Community Church in Cheraw, S.C. serving as guest speaker.

Union Grove Baptist Church will host its homecoming and revival at 11 a.m. at 1019 Shaw Street, Laurinburg. Rev. Robert Powe of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Clio, S.C. will serve as guest speaker for the 3 p.m. service.

Union Grove Baptist Church will host its revival services Aug. 6-8 at 7 p.m. nightly at 1019 Shaw Street, Laurinburg. Rev. Anthony Waymyer of Grace Temple Church of Wallace, S.C. will serve as guest revivalist.
