LAURINBURG – On Thursday, the annual Diabetes Education Fair was held at The Dulin Center, located in the Community Health and Rehabilitation Center on the campus of Scotland Memorial Hospital.
This was a free event open to anyone who had been diagnosed with or is currently caring for someone with diabetes. There were more than 90 members of the community in attendance.
This event focused on information and education by providing free health screenings, a delicious and healthy meal, a fantastic speaker panel and many exhibitors.
Screenings including A1C, height, weight, blood pressure, body fat/BMI and foot checks began at 5:00 pm. Participants visited with many SHCS and community exhibitors between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm before a delicious meal was served followed by a panel of speakers until 8:00pm.
This event was made possible by many generous donations made to Scotland Memorial Foundation during Putting on the Ritz and the FUNd Run-4-Life.
