Julian Clem Priest, 87, of Laurinburg passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at Liberty Hospice House in Sanford.

Mr. Priest was born on Jan. 9, 1926 in Lee County to the late Wade Hampton Priest and Mary Liza (Loposay) Priest.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 92013 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church in Laurinburg.

Mr. Priest served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army in Germany and France.

Mr. Priest was preceded in death in 1995 by his wife of 45 years, Mary Elizabeth Beasley Priest. Also preceding him were three brothers: James Priest, Wade Hampton Priest, Jr., and John Wayne Priest, sister Mae Stone, and grandson Clarence Kevin Priest.

He is survived by his son Larry Priest, Sr. and wife Trina of Newport, daughter Delores Beasley and her fiancé Ray Scott of Laurinburg, two sisters: Minnie Cook and husband Luther of Holden Beach and Edna Hedgepeth and husband Buddy of Laurinburg, three grandchildren: Larry Priest, Jr., Melissa Poole, and April Garner, and eight great-grandchildren: Larry Priest, III., Thomas Hogan, Jr., Mason Hogan, Grace Poole, Hunter Priest, Megan Garner, Matthew Garner, and McKenzie Garner.

The family will be receiving friends and family at the home of Edna and Buddy Hedgepeth at 17600 Fieldcrest Road, Laurinburg, NC between 6:00 and 8:00 PM on Friday March 8th 2013.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in memory of Julian Priest to the Liberty Hospice Service of Lee County at 1005 Carthage St. Sanford, NC 27330

I went to high school with Julian (we called him Chick). Everyone like him. Very nice fellow.
