Grace Odom Stubbs of Gibson passed away at the age of 79 on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at St. John United Methodist Church with burial following in Sunset Memorial Park. The Rev. Myron Dice will officiate the services.

Grace was born on Oct. 12, 1933 in Marlboro County, S.C., daughter of the late Edward Bradley Odom, Sr. and Mildred Stanton Odom. She was the beloved wife to the late Thomas Alfred Stubbs. She was a devoted homemaker and textile worker, retiring from Burlington Industries after many years of service. She was a longtime active member of St. John United Methodist Church. She loved cooking, caring for her family, and spending time with family and friends. She was a precious mother that will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her son Floyd “Buster” E. O’Tuel and sister-in-law Marvleen Odom.

Mrs. Stubbs is survived by her daughters Dianne O. McKay and husband Thomas of Gibson and Rhonda Stephens and husband John of Greenville, Ala., brother Edward “Pat” B. Odom, Jr. and wife Sherry of McColl, S.C., three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to St. John United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 181, Gibson, NC 28343.
