Aubrey James Strickland, 51, of Laurinburg passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at the Eastside Emmanuel Holiness Church officiated by the Rev. James Croke and the Rev. Richard Tyson. Burial followed in Hillside Memorial Park.

Aubrey was born on Sept. 23, 1961 in Baltimore, Md., son of Loretta Hall Strickland and the late Robert Strickland. He was a dedicated employee with the Laurinburg Housing Authority. He served as a faithful member of the Eastside Emmanuel Holiness Church, enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, and tinkering. Above all, Aubrey was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, and brother who will be truly missed.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents John and Lillian Hall.

Aubrey is survived by his wife of 32 years Jacqueline “Jackie” Miller Strickland and his son Aubrey James “AJ” Strickland, II of their home in Laurinburg, his mother Loretta Hall Strickland of Laurinburg, sister Bobbie Jo Seago and husband Tim of Red Springs, mother-in-law Margaret Ray of Laurinburg, father-in-law and mother-in-law Doug and Nancy Miller of Laurinburg, sisters-in-law Wendy Kelly and husband John of Virginia and Carman Miller of Laurinburg, his special niece and nephew Caitlin and Tyler Seago of Red Springs, and his church family.
