Mrs. Elsie Bonnie Hall Atkins, 90, of Hamlet went to be with her Lord on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lee County on June 10, 1922, daughter of Bud Hall and Anna Godfrey Hall.

A member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Hamlet, and retired from Toastmasters of Laurinburg, Mrs. Atkins devoted her life to God, her family and the church. Along with her late husband, she served in the ministry of the SC Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church for 41 years, pastoring Pentecostal Holiness Churches in Ellerbe, Woodville, and Hamlet. She was a true woman of God with a ministry through song.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Harrington Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hamlet, with the Rev. Al McCormick officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband the Rev. Leonard Atkins, brothers Lacy, Ernest, and Alvis Hall, and sisters Edna Hall, Alice Dowd, Florence Lovette, and Sadie Riddle.

Survivors include her daughter Linda Mabe of Hamlet, sons Bobby Atkins and wife Geraldine of Hamlet and Arlis Atkins of Rockingham, grandchildren Don Mabe and wife Lisa, Ricky Mabe and wife Jewell, Steve Mabe and wife Sarah, Robby Atkins, Randy Atkins and wife Lisa, Craig Atkins, Lee Atkins and wife Debbie, Chris Atkins, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in her memory to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1791 E. Broad Ave., Rockingham, NC 28379 or First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1407 McDonald Avenue, Hamlet, NC 28345.
