Cassie Morton Lett, 96, of Laurinburg passed away on Friday evening, Sept. 7, 2012.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the McDougald Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Kenneth Blease and the Rev. J.B. Loving. Burial followed in Hillside Cemetery with Ira Edge, Jonathan Edge, Mike Lett, Eric Lett, Dennis “Bug” Lett, and Jesse Lett serving as pallbearers.

She is survived by her sons Richard Lett of Laurinburg and Dewey “Pete” Lett of Bennettsville, S.C., her daughter Linda Lett of Laurinburg, her sisters Agnes Gray of Wadesboro and Stacey Bell Vick of Norwood, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Born on July 17, 1916 in Anson County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Stacey and Rosa Lewis Morton and widow of the late Early Lett. She is a retired employee of the Crandall Plant and loved traveling, having visited 23 different foreign countries. She was also a charter member of Northview Harvest Ministries.

Her main loves in life were serving the Lord, her husband Early Lett, her children and grandchildren, and traveling.
