A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at Burroughs-Cooper-Kiser Funeral Home, officiated by Mr. Richard Peele. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at Burroughs-Cooper-Kiser Funeral Home.
Born on Nov. 23, 1929 in Horry County, he was the son of the late Walter Memory and Joanna Victoria Ray Carroll. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Rochell was the owner of the Landmark Restaurant and Revel's Barbecue in Bennettsville, S.C. He spent his life devoted to taking care of others, his family, and his beloved employees. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and especially loved children. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Along with his parents, Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his brother Johnnie L. Carroll and sisters Esther C. Revel, Dorothy C. McCormick, and Katie L. Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lynda Miller Carroll of the home, son Gary R. Carroll and wife Connie of Cheraw, S.C., sister Irene C. Jones of Independence, Mo., grandchildren Patrick Rochell Carroll, Nicolas Bron Carroll, Jackson Andrew Carroll, Matthew Jordan Driggers, and Brooklyn Grace Driggers, step-grandson Jonathan Edwards, brothers-in-law D.J. McCormick of Laurinburg and William L. "Bill" Turner of Los Angeles, Calif., and former daughter-in-law Angela Bron.
