Michael Wayne Bennett Sr., 45, of Gibson passed away on Feb. 25, 2013 at his mother’s home.

Mr. Bennett was born on Oct. 31, 1967 a son of Mrs. Hattie Calhoun and the late Claude Henry Bennett Sr. He was predeceased by his stepbrother James Hugh Calhoun, II.

He is survived by his mother Mrs. Hattie Calhoun, stepfather James Calhoun of Conway, S.C., son Michael Wayne Bennett Jr. of Laurinburg, two stepsons: Ralph Lawrence and Jimmy Lawrence both of Rockingham, stepdaughter Miranda Lawrence of Charlotte, brother Claude Henry Bennett Jr. of Gibson, sister Claudale Driggers of Laurinburg, two stepsisters Cindy Prevatte of Florida and Amy Ingram of Portsmouth, Va., 12 grandchildren, and special friend Jona Turner of Rockingham.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor, S.C. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday March 1, 2013 at Gibson Cemetery.
