The family has planned a memorial service for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at the South Laurinburg Baptist Church. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Timothy was born on Jan. 19, 1960 in Wilmington, son of the late Samuel Jefferson Newton and Wilma Alberta Fowler Newton. He was the loving husband to the late Tina Marie Chavis Newton. He worked in residential construction and was a member of the South Laurinburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, and traveling to the beach. Timothy was a kind hearted man that loved spending time with his family.
He is also preceded in death by his brother Samuel Newton, Jr.
Timothy is survived by his only child, Kristina Newton King, and her husband Darrell of Laurinburg, brother Robert Newton of Laurinburg, and his grandchildren Dakota Spangler, Alexander Spangler, and Donovan King.
