Someone fired into a Laurinburg apartment on Thursday morning and struck a man lying in bed, police said.

Matthew Warr, 23, of Lochstone Drive was visiting an acquaintance at Pinewood Park Apartments when the shooting occurred, according to police.

At 3:25 a.m., Warr was struck in the abdomen by a bullet while lying in bed, according to Capt. Kim Monroe of the Laurinburg Police Department.

“He was there visiting with friends,” said Monroe. “The apartment belonged to a female friend of his.”

The bullet was fired from the backyard into the bedroom of the apartment. Pinewood Park Apartments is located near Raleigh Street in Laurinburg.

Monroe said that there is no recent history of gun violence in that area.

Warr was transported by EMS to Scotland Memorial Hospital, where he was treated. While Warr’s injuries are not life-threatening, police are investigating the case and following several leads.

“Officers are getting information and will be meeting with some people of interest in reference to this case,” Monroe said.

I tell you what's the truth, people always have something smart to say! Though it can be difficult for some of us, it only takes a little common since. The INCIDENT happened at 3:25 am, he was obviously staying the night. These days it doesn't have to have anything to do with drugs, people are just ignorant....

who visits friends at 3:25am on a early Thursday morning? Sounds like a dope house or either a brothel. I wonder if that female friend had children in the home or not?
