Past Master Harold C. Gibson was awarded his Diamond Jubilee Certificate and Pin on Nov. 6 in recognition of his 60 years as a Freemason and member of Laurinburg Lodge 305 AF & AM.

The award was presented to him by 2012 Master Jason L. Butler.

Gibson,, who joined the lodge in 1952, held a Master’s position in the lodge in past and also served as lodge secretery for twenty-four years, treasurer for 9 years and was a past District Deputy Grand Master of the 30th NC Masonic District for 3 years.

He also was the 2002 recipient of the Joseph Monfort Award, given to him by the Grand Lodge of North Carolina.

Twenty five Master Masons were in attendance at the ceremony, including members from Carthage Lodge 181 and Maxton Lodge 417. The group also inlcuded Past Masters of Laurinburg Lodge. They were are: Justin Buffkin, Billy Stout, Tom Rogers, Mike Kimbrell, Harold C. Gibson, Jack Jones and Doug Calhoun, Glenn Beane, Jason L. Butler, Michael A. Nobles and Rick Best.
