Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the East Laurinburg Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Richard Tyson and Pastor Kenneth Blease. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Debra was born on Sept.11, 1959 in Scotland County, daughter of George Edward Boyer, the late Ethel Donna Powers and raised by her step mother Geneva Boyer. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. She attended the East Laurinburg Baptist Church. Debra enjoyed writing short stories, reading novels, fishing and her trips to White Lake. She was also an Elvis Presley fan and loved her visit to Graceland.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years Christopher “Chris” Stubbs of the home, her daughter Tabitha Tyson and husband Eric Tyson of Laurinburg, adopted children Judy Waddell Queen of Georgia and Ryan Clark of Laurinburg, her parents George and Geneva Boyer of Laurinburg, sisters Cindy August of Arizona and Marie Boyer Dunham of Laurinburg, three grandchildren: Christopher Caulder, Michael Steven Tyson, and Destiny Caulder Tyson, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4- p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the East Laurinburg Baptist Church.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Debra to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or Relay For Life.
