Baby Omarionte T. Thompson

Baby Omarionte T. Thompson of 20743 Gillis Road, Laurel Hill, died Dec. 25, 2008 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held Dec. 28, 2008 at 4 p.m. at Robenson Cemetery in Laurel Hill.

Survivors are mother Shemeka McLean and father Brandon Thompson.

Donnie E. Bostic

Mrs. Donnie E. Bostic, 96, of 261 Thurman St., Rowland, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at Century Care. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Matthew Chapel. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Dec. 27, 2008 from 1 until 7 p.m.

Survivors are daughters Jessie Quick of the home; Mary Francis Bostic of Rockingham; Mary Bostic of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Grace McClaurin of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a son, D. J. Bostic of McColl, S.C.

Marie Burge Fedak

Marie Burge Fedak of Laurinburg passed away on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at the age of 87.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 at St. David’s Episcopal Church with burial following at Hillside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Fedak was born Sept. 2, 1921 in Phillipsburg, Pa., daughter of the late Alfred and Harriett M. Burge. She was a devoted homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She retired from Abbott Laboratories after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Fedak served as a faithful member of St. David’s Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her husband, Michael “Skip” Fedak of the home; a son, Michael “Mike” J. Fedak and wife Jeanne of Laurinburg; sisters, Janie B. Cagginio of California and Louise B. Libby of Maine and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28th at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Mrs. Fedak to Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, N.C. 28353.

William Wade “Tink” Butler

William Wade Butler, known as Tink, of Bennettsville, S.C., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008 at the age of 90.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at the McColl Church of God with burial following at Rogers Cemetery.

The Rev. Roscoe Oxendine and the Rev. Roy Puckett will officiate the service.

Mr. Butler was born Feb. 25, 1918 in Marlboro County, son of the late Jess and Mary M. Butler. He was the devoted husband of the late Katie Butler. Mr. Butler was a retired farmer.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Nathaniel Butler.

He is survived by his children, sons Jessie Wade Butler of Bennettsville, S.C., James Marvin Butler of Clio, S.C., and Fred Butler and Daniel Butler both of McColl, S.C.; his daughters, Peggy B. Lockey of Abbottville, S.C., Betty B. Butler and Margaret “Katie” Processer both of McColl, S.C., Magaline Sweat of Wallace, S.C., and Ginger Oxendine of Laurinburg; two brothers, Charlie Butler of Florence, S.C. and Olden D. Butler of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sisters, Esto Goins of Tatum, S.C. and Ruth Bulter of Florence, S.C.; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at the McColl Church of God.
