Willie Edward Dawkins, 32, was not at his home at 320 Tuskeegee Drive in Laurinburg when deputies arrived Wednesday morning to take him in custody on charges of dealing marijuana, said Jacobs, a narcotics officer for the Scotland County Sheriff's Office.
Jacobs believes Dawkins may have left the area. He also has a Greensboro address and may be there.
Deputies arrested Edward Deon Cain, Jr., 28, of N. Caledonia Road, Laurinburg and Jessie Flowers, Jr., 29, of Highway 130, Maxton on Wednesday, Jacobs said. Each was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and deliver, sell and deliver of marijuana, and maintaining a drug dwelling or vehicle. Bond was set at $15,000 for each.
Cain has a prior conviction for drug possession.
Warrants were issued on all three men after an undercover operation showed the three were part of a network of drug dealers who serve Scotland County, Jacobs said.
Dawkins and Flowers were both peddling drugs in Scotland from across the Robeson County line, Jacobs said, while Cain is believed to be a major supplier of marijuana in Scotland County.
Dawkins spent seven years in prison for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury after a 1994 heist in Guilford County, according to prison records. He also served a year in prison on a pair of drug charges and a shooting in Davidson County. His parole ended in 2007.
