HOPE MILLS-After a tough test in Jack Britt Monday night, the Scots hit the floor against a good South View squad Wednesday night.

The Scots managed to make short of them.

Scotland volleyball took care of business and earned a 3-0 win over the Tigers.

"I was proud of how the girls played,” said Scots coach David Barnes. “We ran a good offense, served tough, we worked on a few things that I had pointed out to them that we needed to work on like serving dumps, and speeding up our offense and we were able to do that today."

The Scots won the first set 25-14, the second set 25-12 and the third set 25-13.

For Barnes, the girls kept up the intensity after a stiff test from the Buccaneers two nights earlier.

"I kept harping to the girls was that Monday's game was such a huge test for us," Barnes said. "After seeing how we played and defeating Jack Britt, the expectations are high now because they're probably one of the best teams that we'll see until the playoffs."

Caroline Pridgen turned in an impressive night for Scotland (2-0), converting seven kills on 13 attempts for .538- percentage.

Jessica Bowen tied her teammate with seven kills while Taborah Hollingsworth amassed six.

Ashley Paolozzi led all servers with 15 service points and three aces. She also had 15-of-18 passes to target.

Sarah Laviner had 13 service points and an ace while having 10-of-14 passes to target.

Sarah Cross had 12 service points and like Paolozzi, served up three aces.

After the win over Jack Britt, Barnes had high expectations for the girls and they exceeded them.

"Today, we played at the level of expectation. South View's always a good school," said Barnes. "They're usually either tops in their conference or close to it and I figured that we should go in there and beat them 25-13 or better in each set and we did that each game."

Scotland will open up its home slate of games when it hosts Cape Fear at 6 p.m tonight.

In jayvee’ action, the Scots beat South View in straight sets, 25-17 and 25-13 for the 2-0 win.
