Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at the Berea United Methodist Church in McColl, S.C. officiated by the Rev. Paul Gasque and the Rev. Dorothy Bell. Burial will follow the service in Priest Cemetery.
Ethel was born Oct. 31, 1936 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Carey Bowen and Maggie Bullard Bowen. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to caring for her family and others. She was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She served as a member of Skyway Baptist Church and was a former member of Berea United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and also reading.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, James Allen Polston; her children, Allen Dean Polston of Maxton, Audie Dale Polston of Maxton, Gerald Polston and wife Carla of Laurinburg, and Bonnie Polston Knight and husband James of Laurinburg; brothers Henry Eugene Bowen and wife Irene of Laurinburg and Carey Everett Bowen and wife Bernice of McColl, S.C.; and her granddaughters, Heather Dawn Polston of Raleigh and Jenna Marie Knight of Laurinburg.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
