Jeff Brothers capped off his summer in the Great South League with a .230 batting average in 33 games with the Catawba Valley Stars.
Brothers finished with a home run and eight RBIs.
His Knights and summer league teammate, Adrian Rivera, finished with a .282 average with seven RBIs. Rivera also scored 22 times while drawing 21 free passes.
Kyle Tate finished 1-0 in five appearances for the Morganton Aggies. In 16 1/3 innings tossed, the rising sophomore fanned 17 batters.
Brad Bridgeman raised his batting average to .204 at the end of the summer with the Statesville Owls of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.
Bridgeman, who will continue his baseball career at UNCP next spring, finished with 11 RBIs this summer while leading the Owls with eight stolen bases.
Western Carolina's Vance Chavis only saw action in two games (one start) this summer for the Thomasville HiToms of the Coastal Plain League.
Chavis struck out four batters in 5 2/3 innings of work.
Nick Liles continues to have an impressive 2010 campaign with the Augusta GreenJackets.
Liles is currently second in the South Atlantic League (first on the GreenJackets) in hitting, sporting a .317 batting average. He also leads Augusta (59-47) in stolen bases (22) and on-base percentage (.363) along with being fifth on the team in RBIs with 47.
After a hot start in the Appalachian League, Chris Patterson has faltered some as his ERA has gone up to 5.11.
Patterson, who sports a 2-1 record in 11 appearances, has 16 strikeouts.
Former teammate Derrick Lowery, hasn't fared much better, as he is 0-2 with a 15.19 ERA as a member of the Arizona League Reds. Lowery has seven strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings pitched.
Russ Adams is fourth on the Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A affiliate of the Mets) in RBIs with 36. Adams is currently batting .252 with eight home runs in 81 games this season
