The Veteran's Vision publication has endorsed U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kissell was cited for his leadership and support over the past two years.

Maj. Brian Hampton, president and publisher of the VETERANS' VISION, said, "Larry Kissell understands the problems facing our military families and how to help them in these tough economic times. He is a proven champion for our veterans as his impressive legislative record shows."

Hampton credited Kissell with helping secure $111 million in new funding for Pope Air Force Base and Fort Bragg, $88 million for a Warriors in Transition complex for returning troops and working to end unfair predatory lending practices to members of the Armed Forces.

Congressman Kissell has called for an aggressive agenda for veterans needs.

Hampton emphasized the importance of electing federal candidates who understand veterans' needs, saying, "The alarming reports of returning troops from Iraq and Afghanistan dealing with PTSD and serve depression can no longer be dismissed. We know from our experiences with Vietnam Veterans that PTSD can lead to substance abuse, severe mental health illnesses and homelessness."

Kissell is seeking re-election in North Carolina's 8th Congressional District agaisnt Republican Harold Johnson.
