Marlboro County deputies charged 42-year-old George Anthony Cousins, of Tatum, last week with murder in the July 19 shooting death of Tammy Locklear Norris, 42, of Brownsville, S.C., according to published reports. Norris was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg and then transferred to Charlotte, where she ultimately died.
Cousins is being held in the Marlboro County jail.
The two were in a relationship, investigators said, but declined to provide a motive in the slaying.
Cousins is the father of 18-year-old William Luke Cousins, who has been in Scotland County jail since Jan. 23 on the charge of first-degree murder in the death of his 39-year-old mother, Sarah Williams.
William Cousins is accused of ambushing Williams when she came home from work. Investigators believe he laid in wait for her with a gun, turning his music up load to mask the gunshots.
William Cousins told investigators he was attempting suicide, accidentally shooting Williams when she interrupted him.
