Robert L. “Bobby” Sand Man” Hunt, 65, of Laurel Hill died Friday, July 2, at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Jonathan Pruitt. Burial will follow in Scotland Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Patsy Locklear and husband Terry of Laurel Hill; his father, James Barfield of Laurinburg; his companion, Beulah Taylor; four brothers, Billy Scott, Junior Scott, Huey Scott and Billy Barfield; six sisters, Patricia Scott, Brenda Barfield, Frances Barfield, Darlene Barfield, Linda Diane Barfield, and Cigi Barfield; three grandchildren, Eric Bryant, Ashley Locklear, and Terry Locklear, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Deanna Locklear and Christopher Locklear.

Born June 9, 1945, he is the son of James Barfield and the late Ethel Hunt Barfield. “Bobby” was a true family man, being a wonderful father and grandfather. He was always having a good time “cutting up” with family and friends. He enjoyed working on vehicles and would never turn anyone down if they needed help.

Visitation will be 6–8 p.m. Tuesday evening at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
