Or so it seemed Saturday night after a restaurant and a pizza delivery man were robbed in separate incidents.
Domino's delivery man Adam Spry said he got an order to deliver a pizza to 519 Wagram St. in Laurinburg.
Spry said she could not find the address, but stopped when he said a man began trying to flag him down. He said he got out the car with the pizza thinking the man was the customer.
But the man had a surprise for him.
"He had a sledge hammer behind his back," Spry said.
Spry said the proceeded to take a swing at him with the hammer.
"He could have killed me with it," Spry said.
Spry said he took off running but tripped. When he tried to stand up, a second person, described by Spry as a black male with a light-colored long sleeve shirt and a cloth over his face, put a gun to his head.
The police report said the armed robbers made off with $32 and an estimated $30 worth of pizza.
"I'm still pretty angry about it," Spry said. "I'm hoping they catch them cause I want to get paid."
The incident, which happened around 10:30 p.m., was one of two armed robberies reported to the Laurinburg Police Department on Saturday.
The other robbery was at Park Grill.
A store clerk reported to police that around 8:30 p.m, a man wearing a black ski mask entered the business with a handgun, demanding money.
The man, who was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, demanded the money drawer from the clerk, according to the report.
The man then made the clerk lay on the floor and left the business. He then left the business with over $2,000 from the register, the report said.
