Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 2010 at the East Laurinburg Church of God officiated by the Rev. Jeffery McGirt and the Rev. Clyde Jacobs. Burial will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
Pete was born Oct. 12, 1942 in Marlboro County, S.C. He was the son of the late John Willie Milligan and Agatha Louise Polston. He served our country proudly as a member of the United States Army Reserve. Pete was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked with Sinclair Lumber Company, retiring after many years of dedicated service. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Church of God. Pete was also a mechanic and enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, hunting and vacationing with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers William Garner and Allen Polston; a sister, Sarah Louise Polston; and a grandchild, Jocelyn Milligan.
Pete leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Bulah Milligan of the home; his children, a son, Jeremy Milligan and wife Denise Milligan of Maxton; daughters Sarah Milligan of Laurinburg, Shirley Lowery and husband Wayne Lowery of Laurinburg, and Dawn Mozingo and husband Philip Mozingo of Maxton; grandchildren Jamie Milligan, Randi Milligan, Toni Milligan and Jason Lowery; a great-grandchild, Kassidy Milligan; a sister-in-law, Deborah Polston of Wagram; and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 4 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
