The St. Andrews Presbyterian College volleyball program has announced its 30-match regular season schedule for the 2010 fall season.

The Lady Knights will be tested by Southeast Region opposition throughout the semester under the direction of first year head coach Thais Franca. SAPC will only oppose two teams that are not within the region (Florida Institute of Technology and Davis & Elkins College) in a pair of neutral site weekend tournaments.

St. Andrews picked up eight of its 12 victories on the road in 2009 and will hope to continue that trend this season, as 20 of its 30 matches are scheduled away from Laurinburg. The Knights travels features a pair of four-match weekend tournaments at the Chatham Orthopedics Volleyball Classic hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State University in September and the USC Aiken Invitational in October.

The Royal Blue & White open its season with seven consecutive road contests. St. Andrews dives right into Conference Carolinas play in its opening weekend of September 3-4 at Limestone College and Converse College. The Knights visit local rival UNC Pembroke before completing its opening road trek at the AASU tourney.

SAPC will play nine of its 10 home matches in a 33 day span starting with its home opener on September 14 against Mount Olive College. All 10 tilts in Harris Court will be league showdowns.

St. Andrews will once again try and attempt to qualify for the conference tournament after completing a 20-match league schedule that includes an even distribution of 10 home and 10 away matches. The 2010 Conference Carolinas Tournament will once again be three-rounds with the top-eight teams in the regular season standings qualifying for tourney. All three rounds will be contested at the higher seeds with the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Nov. 9; the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 12; and the finals on Sunday, Nov. 14.

The Lady Knights home finale against league foe Barton College on Tuesday, Nov. 2 will be designated as ‘Senior Night’. SAPC will once again participate in the national Dig Pink Breast Cancer Campaign at a home match in 2010 (designated game will be announced at a later date).

SAPC will be tested throughout the season including match-ups with three teams that qualified for the 2009 NCAA National Championship Tournament including Conference Carolinas champions Lees-McRae and Southeast Region champions Flagler College.

The Knights will prepare for the 2010 campaign with a pair of home scrimmages in August against Meredith College (Aug. 25) and Sandhills Community College (Aug. 28).
