Foul play is suspected in the death of a man whose body was found near Laurel Hill earlier today.
Harold Leon Cook, 30, of Queen Road, was found shot to death in overgrowth along Armstrong Road, according to Chief Deputy Steve Smith.
Smith said a deputy was investigating a missing persons report filed at 10 a.m. when he found the body, which had two gunshot wounds, one to the head.
Harold Walters, the victim's father, said he was told his son left home at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night to go to his third-shift job, but never arrived at work.
The victim's car was found near the body.
"The sheriff's department is working very diligently to solve this, doing full investigative protocol for a homicide with the help of the new crime scene unit," Smith said.
