Wagram man robbed

A Wagram man was robbed after a physical assault, according to a sheriff's report.

Brandon Eric Reed, 22, of Crandal Street, told deputies on Thursday that he was on Pine Villa Road when an acquaintance punched him several times and then stole $35, the report said.

The sheriff's office is investigating.

Alleged burglar arrested

A convicted drug dealer again found himself behind bars, this time on burglary charges.

Gary Parker, 46, was arrested at his Frances Road home in Gibson on Thursday and charged with burglary, larceny and felony conspiracy, according to a sheriff's report. He was placed in Scotland County jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

Parker spent three years in prison after convictions on five counts of selling and possessing narcotics, according to the state Department of Correction.

Shoplifting reported

Someone left a local store with a cart full of detergent without paying, according to a sheriff's report.

The Laurel Hill Family Dollar reported on Thursday that someone filled a grocery cart with 20 containers of dish detergent worth $160 and pushed it out of the store, the report said.

Deputies are investigating.

Stolen car recovered

Deputies recovered a stolen car just hours after it was reported taken.

Tina Wilkes, 35, reported on Thursday that her black 1996 Pontiac Sunfire was stolen from the yard of her Turkey Run Road home in Laurel Hill, according to a sheriff's report. The car, worth $2,000, was later found.

Chain saws stolen

Power tools and bicycles were reported stolen from a Laurinburg home on Thursday.

Henry Hegwood, 51, reported that someone pried open a window screen on his Gibson Road home and made out with a pair of bicycles worth $600 and a pair of chain saws worth $360, according to a sheriff's report.

Keys taken

A a school administrator reported his keys stolen from his car.

East Laurinburg Alternative School Principal John Teal told deputies that someone took his car key and house key from his gold Honda Accord when it was parked at school, according to a sheriff's report.

Copper wiring stolen

Deputies are looking for copper thieves after a Laurel Hill woman reported the metal stolen from her home.

Andrea Carol Johnson, 22, reported Thursday that someone stole 25 feet of copper lines from the air conditioning unit at her Marston Road home, the report said.

Laurinburg Police Chief John Evans said Tuesday that copper thefts such as this are becoming more common as the cost of metal has increased.

Laurinburg B&E reported

A Laurinburg man reported a break-in earlier this week.

Perez Jose Oscar, 33, told deputies on Tuesday that someone entered his Adams Avenue home through the rear door and stole several items, according to a sheriff's report. The thief made off with $200 in assorted clothing and $70 in cash, the report said.

Game console taken

A game console was among several items reported stolen in a recent break-in.

Sheila Smith, 36, of X-Way Road, reported on Thursday that someone pried open the front door to her home and stole $50 worth of DVD's, a Nintendo Game Cube valued at $40 and a Winnie the Pooh baby bouncer valued at $45.
