Members of the Laurinburg City Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Barrett building to discuss several issues.

The top issue on its agenda is a rash of break-ins in the downtown area.

Police Chief John Evans will brief council on how serious the problem is and the severity of the damage, according to City Manager Ed Burchins.

There have been a series of break-ins where glass has been broken out of doors and windows by bricks. Thefts have occurred in several instances, but many do not involve any actual theft.

Council members will also discuss a number of agenda items for their upcoming monthly meeting. Those items include:

• The Laurinburg-Maxton Airport's proposed budget for the next fiscal year.

• A lease for the House of Raeford from the airport.

• Budget requests from the Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce and the Scotland County Economic Development Corporation.

• Several budget amendments for the current fiscal year.

• Details of the upcoming budget process.
