Mr. Danny E. Covington, 65 of 218 Gulf Street, Laurinburg, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be Monday, May 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Hasty. The Rev. Kenneth Moore will officiate. Burial will be at Nazareth Memorial Cemetery in Wagram. Visitation will be at McPhatter Funeral Home in Laurel Hill on Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret Covington of Laurinburg; three sons, Danny McDonald of Kannapolis and Dareyton McDonald and Patrick Covington, both of Laurinburg; six daughters, Stennette Bethea of Laurel Hill, Annie Fairley, Cassandra Covington, and Paul Armstrong , all of Laurinburg, and Jamal Duru and Robbie Watts, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Coleman Covington of Laurinburg and James Covington of Kentucky; one sister, Joyce Winkfield of Union City, N.J.; 26 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
