"We are happy to have finished the regular season undefeated," Eagles Coach Scotty Jacobs said. "We're now in familiar territory, having won five of the last seven conference title games."
Hayley Butler picked up the win in a no-hit performance, striking out seven and walking three.
Hailey finished a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and a triple. Grace McCormick hit an inside the park home run while finishing 2-for-3.
Katelyn Britt, Mayghan Campbell and Butler all finished 2-for-3 while Carlie Suggs went 2-for-2.
In the second game this past Monday, Carver completed a season sweep of the Eagles, 19-3.
Butler picked up the win in the second game for Carver (12-0), striking out four in two innings of work before making way for Abby Bray, who earned the save. Butler also had a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate.
Clark (inside the park home run), McCormick, Faith Gibson (triple) all went 3-for-4 in the winning effort.
Britt had an inside the park home run and finished 3-for-3 while Cearra Blackwell (2-for-2) and Suggs (1-for-1) also had perfect days at the plate. Suggs lone at-bat resulted in an inside the park home run.
Carver baseball team brings home another win
RAEFORD-The Carver baseball team upped its conference standings to 6-1 with a 9-2 win over East Hoke.
Colby Chavis was the winning pitcher for the Eagles, holding East Hoke to only two runs. Dillon Ward came in relief for the last inning and retired the three batters he faced.
It was not until the top of the second inning when Carver scored its first run. Bradley Scott hit a single and then reached home on Chavis' hit to left field. East Hoke retaliated in the bottom of the third a run of its own.
The Eagles rallied in the top of the fourth, adding four more runs to their credit. Casey Richmond started off the inning with a single to left field and scored on a hard hit double by Bradley Scott.
Logan Hatcher smoked a single to deep right field bring home Scott. Dawson Shelley singled to right field to score Hatcher.
Nolan Pierce followed suit with a deep right field double, scoring Shelley to take a 5-1 lead.
Carver's defense got East Hoke to go three up and three down the next two innings.
In the bottom of the fourth, Hatcher and Brandon Scott teamed up perfectly for a pair of shortstop to first base outs. Hatcher then caught a pop up to end any thoughts of East Hoke getting on base.
In the fourth inning, Chavis struck out the first batter before the next hitter took first with a hit pitch, but he never saw second.
A grounder to Carver shortstop, Hatcher, who fielded the ball, fired it to second baseman, Dillon Ward, who then quickly turned and threw a precision shot to first baseman, Scott, for a spectacular double play to end the inning.
In the sixth inning, Hatcher reached first on a single and stole second. Nolan Pierce joined him on base with a single of his own and Jaylen Ratliffe scored Hatcher, making the score, Carver 6-1.
East Hoke made a gallant attempt in the bottom of the sixth, but could only squeak out one run on an RBI double to center field.
Carver added three more runs in the last inning. Evan Guinn was rewarded first base when he was hit by a pitch and then scored on a Ward triple to deep right field.
Hatcher hit a line drive single to center field scoring Ward, then stole second and came home on a single by Shelley.
Ward came to the mound to face the last three and sat them down with excellent infield defense by Hatcher, Guinn, and Pierce ending the game.
